Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR) Activity in Tonkolili and Port Loko District
Date: 5th June 2024
Location: Rokoron community, Tonkolili and Robis Community Port Loko District,
With fund from Concern Sierra Leone through the Yoti Yoti project we are excited to announce that our Community Managed Disaster Risk Reduction (CMDRR) activity has been successfully implemented in Tonkolili and Port Loko district today!
This initiative was designed to empower local communities to take ownership of their disaster risk reduction efforts and build resilience against natural disasters. Our team worked closely with community leaders, local authorities, and residents to identify and address their unique disaster risk reduction needs.
Through this activity, we:
* Conducted a participatory disaster risk assessment with local communities
* Developed a comprehensive disaster management plan for each community
* Provided training on disaster risk reduction and management techniques
We are thrilled to see the enthusiasm and commitment of the community members towards this initiative. We believe that this training will not only reduce the risk of disasters but also enhance the overall well-being of the communities.
